Every lane starts at Ask me, and content is never rationed: your approval is the limit. On paid plans, posts, articles, newsletter issues and changelog entries that pass Ballad's checks can be approved on their own, with at least two hours to pull them.
Your content, your accounts
Posts go out from your profiles and articles live on your domain. Leave and everything published stays where it is.
No training on your data
Your writing and edits teach your voice, and only your voice. They are never used to train models for other customers.
Cancel any time
No contracts on Founders or Startup. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for, and what you've published stays.
Questions
The things people ask before they start.
Is Founders really free?
Yes. Founders is free, with no card and no time limit, for two people and as many Viewers as you like. Upgrading is a choice you make when you want Ballad to act on its own, track more of your market, or bring more people in; nothing you have published or set up changes when you do.
Who counts as a user?
Owners, Administrators and Users count toward your plan's users, including invites that are still open. Viewers are free on every plan, in any number: an investor, an advisor or a teammate who only watches. Agent keys and connected Claude apps don't count.
Is content really unlimited?
Yes, on every plan. Ballad drafts only what keeps your schedule full and waits while your review pile is deep, so your approval is the limit. What the plans change is who can be in the workspace, what happens without a click, and how much SEO and AI-visibility work Ballad does for you.
What does fair use mean?
Some AI work isn't gated by approval: asking Ballad questions, conversations, regenerating a draft, images. Every plan runs it under a fair-use ceiling set well above what a real company uses, to guard against abuse rather than to meter you. We don't publish a number.
Do I need my own website?
No. If you have one, Ballad can be its CMS: it holds the articles and your site shows them through a small content API (a Next.js guide gets you there in an afternoon), and your pages refresh on publish. If you'd rather keep your own CMS, the article comes to you as rich text, Markdown or HTML with its opening image, you paste it in, and you give Ballad the live address so signals attach to it. Either way your articles live on your domain, not ours, every plan ships the SEO basics and an opening image, social posts need no site at all, and every plan includes a ballad.to link page.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new workspace gets Startup free for 14 days, with no card. At the end it becomes Founders unless someone subscribes; nothing is deleted, and you can upgrade whenever you're ready.
How do I upgrade?
In Settings › Billing. Choose Startup monthly or yearly, or Business yearly, and pay by card at checkout, where a promo code goes in too. The billing portal handles your card, invoices, changing plans and cancelling. The workspace Owner manages billing; Administrators can see it. For an invoice, a contract or a security review on Business, contact sales.
What if a payment fails?
The card is retried and your plan holds for 14 days. If it still hasn't gone through, the workspace becomes Founders. Nothing is deleted, and paying later restores the plan.
Can I start on Founders and move up later?
Yes, and the whole loop is already on Founders. Moving up adds pieces approved on their own when they pass Ballad's checks, plan changes Ballad applies itself, more users, weekly AI visibility on more questions, more competitors, a larger keyword allowance, the weekly site audit with its technical checks, and hiding “Powered by Ballad”. Your voices, plan, signals and history come with you; nothing has to be rebuilt.
Does Ballad train on my content?
No. Your writing, edits, and approvals teach your own voice and improve your own plan. They are not used to train models for other customers. See the Privacy Policy.

Startup is $249 a month, or $2,490 a year, which is two months free. Business is billed annually only: $38,400 a year, which works out to $3,200 a month.
Do you offer discounts?
From time to time there's a promo code, applied when you subscribe. The prices on this page are always the list price.
What happens if I cancel?
Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for, and there are no refunds for part of a period. Content already published through your own accounts and on your domain stays exactly where it is, and you can export your articles from the content API before you go.
