What it does

Four things, all from Slack.

Approve drafts from a card

Each draft Ballad writes arrives as a card with the post as it will read. Approve, reject or open it in the app — the decision is the same one you'd make in the Inbox.

The morning digest

One message with what needs you today: drafts waiting, posts to publish by hand, replies to answer. Held during your quiet hours and sent when they end.

Ask Ballad

Type /ballad with a question, mention @Ballad in the channel, or DM the app: which post brought this week's signups, what's scheduled, where competitors get cited in AI answers. Answers link back to the posts and people they cite.

Conversations worth joining

When a thread on Hacker News is asking the question your product answers, Ballad posts it with a suggested reply. You decide whether to join.

What it can see

Exactly what it asks for, and why.

The permissions on Slack's authorize screen, in plain words. Ballad reads nothing beyond messages addressed to it.

Post messages

Cards, the digest and answers, in the channel you choose during install and in direct messages with the app.

Read messages that mention @Ballad, and direct messages to it

Only those. Ballad does not read your channels' conversations.

Look up who is asking, including their email address

So an answer runs as the matching Ballad member and shows only their workspace's data. The email is matched, not stored.

So install is one step. Ballad joins no other channel.

Install

Three steps.

1Click Add to Slack. You'll sign in to Ballad first if you aren't already — the app is installed into your Ballad workspace, which is where drafts and signals live.
2Pick the channel for approval cards and the digest on Slack's authorize screen, and allow the app.
3Back in Ballad, Settings → Notifications shows the connection, your quiet hours, and what gets posted. Try /ballad in any channel.
