Ballad
Ballad for Slack

Support

A person reads every message. Email support@balladlabs.com with what you tried and roughly when; we reply within one business day, usually much sooner. Include your Slack workspace name and the Ballad workspace you're signed in to.

Common fixes

If something isn't working.

/ballad isn't in the command list, or says the workspace isn't connected
The app isn't installed in this Slack workspace, or it was installed before the command existed. Open Ballad → Settings → Notifications and click Connect Slack (or Reconnect). Slack picks up new commands and permissions only on a fresh install.
Ballad says it can't tell who's asking, or that my email isn't a member
Answers run as the Ballad member whose email matches your Slack profile's email. Check that your Slack profile has an email address, and that you're signed in to Ballad with the same one. If the message says the app needs to be reinstalled, do that from Settings → Notifications.
I mentioned @Ballad and nothing appeared
The app only answers in channels it has been added to, and the reply is visible only to you. If you mentioned it inside a thread, the reply is in that thread. If the channel is new, invite @Ballad to it first.
Approval cards or the morning digest stopped arriving
Check the channel chosen during install still exists and the app is still in it, and look at your quiet hours under Settings → Notifications — the digest waits until they end. Reconnecting Slack from the same page re-registers the channel.
An answer says Ballad couldn't answer just now
Usually a temporary limit or a momentary error. Try again in a minute; if it keeps happening, email us with the question you asked and the time.
Uninstall and data

Removing the app.

Disconnect Slack from Ballad under Settings → Notifications; Ballad revokes its token and stops posting immediately. You can also remove the app from Slack's own app settings. Ballad keeps no Slack message content and no member emails — it reads messages addressed to it to answer them, and matches your email to your account at the moment you ask. What Ballad does keep about your workspace is described in the Privacy Policy; email support@balladlabs.com to have it deleted.
