Connect LinkedIn
Publish from your profile instead of pasting, with the link as the first comment — and the 60-day reconnect LinkedIn requires, explained up front.
Connect LinkedIn and the posts you approve publish themselves from your profile, instead of waiting in a tab for you to paste them.
One thing to know before you start: LinkedIn's access lasts 60 days and can't be renewed silently. Ballad asks you to reconnect before it lapses, and that's not a bug in the setup — it's how LinkedIn works for apps like this.
1. Connect the account to a voice
In Ballad: Settings → Voices → the voice → LinkedIn → Connect LinkedIn. Sign in, approve, and you're back.
Ballad asks for your name and photo, your email, and permission to post as you. It can't read your feed, your connections or your messages.
2. What publishes automatically
Approved posts and image posts go out on their slot, as you. Carousels post as their images.
Links are handled the way they should be on LinkedIn: the post goes up with the link as the first comment rather than in the body, so the post isn't demoted for pointing somewhere else.
3. Numbers
LinkedIn doesn't give apps like Ballad your post metrics, so two days after a post goes live Ballad asks you for them — in the Inbox, or in Slack if you've connected it. Type in the impressions and reactions and they feed the plan the same way X's numbers do.
Reconnecting every 60 days
The row counts down: Access ends in N days, then Access lapsed — reconnect to keep posting. A reconnect card also appears in your Inbox under Accounts before it runs out.
If it does lapse, nothing is lost. Posts keep being drafted and approved; they wait for you to post by hand until the connection is back.
What isn't supported yet
Company pages. Ballad posts as a person, not as an organisation, so your brand voice on LinkedIn is still copy-and-paste. Posting to a company page needs LinkedIn's Community Management API, which is a review process rather than a switch.
LinkedIn newsletters are the same: Ballad drafts the issue, you publish it from LinkedIn.
